My  son  has  his  first  writing  assignment  for  college  to  hand  in  on  Tuesday.  He  has never  had  ”real”  classes  in  high  school  since  he  went  to  an  alternative  school.  He has  an  IEP  and  has  always  had  special  accommodations  for  him.  Now,  he  does  have  some  extra  support  outside  of  the  college.  When  he  is  in  college  and  doing  the  college  work,  he  is  expected  to  be  on  the  same  level  as  everyone  else.  He  was  struggling  with  this  writing  assignment.  He  has  four  questions  he  has  to  answer  in  a  one  to  two  page  paper.  He  couldn’t  even  fill  one  page.  I  asked  my  husband  to  give  him  some  advice  to  help  him  out.  It  took  all  of  two  seconds  to  figure  out  what  the  problem  was.
