Making Memories

I need to take more pictures. My camera sits in a drawer. I typically just use my iPhone for shots on the go. I’m sure this is true for many people. Actually, I’m jealous that it is so easy now as compared to when I had my kids. I still to this day have rolls of 110 film that have yet to be developed, if they even can be after all these years.

Here is what I am intending to do this year.

1. Take more pictures.
2. Make monthly photo books online to preserve the memories.
3. Get a grown up camera. My little digital one is good but Hubby & I want a great one! We want to be able to take amazing pictures. I think having Soup in our lives is pushing me into this.
4. At the end of the year make a calendar using a favorite photo from each month of 2012 as the photo for that month in 2013.
5. Make prints of photos and share them with family. Why keep all the great memories to ourselves? Monthly gifts maybe??

Do you have any favorite online photo editing programs you use?

What site is your favorite to order photo books from?

What is your camera of choice? Cell phone? Point & shoot? Grown up camera?

  1. I am an amateur photog. Love it. I have a Canon Rebel SLR and love it. It’s a great first “real” camera. I love photoshop but for free programs I like photoscape and picnik. HOpe that helps!

    • I would love to get photoshop one day! I do use picnik right now. I will have to check out photoscape, I had never heard of it. Hubby keeps looking at the camera from the Ashton Kutcher commercial LOL. I do see a lot of people post about the Canon Rebel SLR. I will have to look into that. Thanks!

  2. I also want a grown up camera. I have a beginner digital camera which is so-so. I really want a Nikon or Cannon but I can’t afford the one I want at this time. Maybe in the near future…. I do use my iphone to take photos but still don’t get the pics that I would like to have.
I have my photos saved on a hard drive and sometimes I make cards or slide shows with them and send them out as gifts or just to say “hello”. I usually order photos from walmart online or shutterfly.com. The prices are very reasonable…I think. Also we have a digital photo frame that we can play the photos in a slide room………..but I have to confess it still is in the box. lol

  3. We made books for my and Fefe’s parents this year for Christmas. We used shutterfly and it was awesome, you actually create a book, complete with a storyline and everything if you want. One chronicled our trip to Buffalo and the other chronicled our live in Minnesota. I’d highly recommend it.
